What are Flower Essences?

In the 1930s, Dr. Edward Bach developed a unique approach to healing using "flower essences." Flower essences are made by infusing flowers or other plant parts in spring water and then adding alcohol or Red Shiso as a preservative. The essences are used internally or topically to balance emotional states. The underlying philosophy focuses on stabilizing emotions in order to dissipate illness and stimulate internal healing processes.

Dr. Bach believed that disease was the result of imbalance or negativity at the level of the soul and that flower remedies act to balance these in harmonies on an emotional and spiritual level.

Jessica's work often times will involve Flower Essences for both animals and humans and has found astounding positive benefits from their use.

How are Flower Essences given?

The beauty of Flower Essences is their versatile and gentle properties.  Essences can be given orally by mouth or in a small amount of water or food.  Another common way to use Flower Essences is to combine the Essence with water in a spray bottle and to "spritz" the body, blankets or living area.

How do you know what Flower Essence to use?

By knowing your symptoms Jessica can help you find the right Flower Essence or Essences.  In many cases, a "Combination Essence" is used which.  By combining various Essences multiple symptoms can be treated at the same time.

How can Herbs help?

Herbs are another gentle yet highly effective way to help a being heal.  Herbs have been used for medicinal purposes dating back to 13,000 - 25,000 BC.  It has been scientifically proven that animals in the wild would change their eating habits to nibble on various herbs to help them self-heal from various aliments.

Herbs can help facilitate emotional, mental and physical healing by kick-starting the inborn system within the body that promotes self-healing.

Unlike allopathic medicine herbs very rarely have adverse side affects and when they do, it is nothing compared to that of Western medicine.  Jessica can help you select the right herbs for you and make you aware of any and all contraindications.

How are Herbs given?

Jessica uses both tinctures and herbs in powdered form in her work and will occasionally use whole herbs made into a tea or poultice.

In most cases herbs can be given orally or mixed in food or drink.  Jessica will calculate the appropriate dosage and will explain to you all administration details.

How do you select Herbs for each being?

Similar to the approach used for selecting Flower Essences, Jessica chooses herbs for you based on the plethora of information she receives from both you and through your work together.  She takes all of this into consideration when selecting an herbal regimen.
